After all, who would not want to hitch their wagon to one of Silicon Valley’s brightest lights and one of the luminaries of the burgeoning smartphone photography sector. When Google purchased the Nik Collection, many people initially had high hopes for the new partnership. This was totally the case when Google purchased the Nik Collection, a suite beloved by photographers but forgotten by its then-new owners. This especially becomes challenging when one company attempts to purchase another or at least one of its popular software suites. Luckily I still have the free version which I can reinstall if my paid version fails to work due to some licence lookup failure.Software communities tend to be some of the most loyal and rabid fan bases around, so it’s no surprise that seemingly small changes, to the outside at least, can cause nothing but consternation among longtime users. I'm back to running it via Lightroom which is not my ideal workflow but I'll deal with it. So for those who have the free version and were thinking of upgrading for better seamless integration with PS. (polite but obviously ticked)ĭay or two later, get an email from Paypal saying DXO has granted full refund. Paypal was awaiting their response (for 20 days before doing anything)Ĭouple of days pass and I get a "How was your customer experience with the DXO helpdesk automated email.Īnswered how I had zero help from them. (Sounds promising) Since I had opened the Paypal complaint process there was nothing they could do. with the launch of Nik their help desk was overloaded. (Well there was the automated "we have received your ticket and someone will be looking into it") Sent Paypal a complaint asking for a refundĤ-5 days later I get an email fro DXO saying they apologize for the delay. I know it was not user error)Ģ days went by and not even a single response. (I've been in IT for 30 years and have rebuilt countless PCs and Macs. If they "Fixed" the issues with working alongside PS, there must have been other issues. Rebooted reinstalled tried a variety of things. Uninstalled my old, installed new one ran it from PS and it crashed PS pretty much the same way it did before.

Update: So on the 7th or so I ordered the NEW Nik collection update.
