The biggest issues then appears to be the battery, changing it potentially invalidates your 3 year warranty but after 3 years try it!! I tested mine by popping out the original battery and popping in a standard 2032 battery - just a cheap one 8 for a £1 at the local pound shop - the keyboard came to life proving the battery was the issue. I have since purchased a battery and now the unit works fine - LOGITECH are against anyone changing the battery with the words "not recommended" given to me in an email about this issue, BUT the keyboards does have a 3 year manufacturers warranty and so long as you have your receipt they will replace the keyboard. but do not buy product from logitech with this mentality it's going nowhere (or only for money).
what a bad move for the ecology, most people will trash their keyboard and buy a new one (not even removing the battery because it's almost impossible). Really i am disappointed, this keyboard is nice, but the fact that logitech stated that the battery is not changeable it's pure stupidity. So i might just hack it (crack open it) to force a connection between the battery and the keyboard, but for now, bending the keyboard does the trick. maybe only my model, but really if i bend the keyboard up where the battery is located, i can see immediately the led turning red / green.
So it's the connection of the battery that is bad (inside the tray). the thing is when i hit the "test light" button to see if there's enough sunlight to recharge the battery the little led doesn't even turn red or green. Well i have another issue than you, i have a k750 black and the battery is fine (tested with a multimeter and powered a led for 1h, but my keyboard keeps disconnecting (i do not have the multiple char issue). That does it!įor those who are interested, the battery is a Maxell ML2032 Rechargable 3V. Still unwilling to give in, I took out the battery of the new keyboard and plug it into the old one. So I went ahead to purchase another of the same keyboard (K750r to be exact).
It does not pair but has a continuous blinking red :-(. I took out the battery (finally and with a lot of struggle), place it back and gone, no longer works anymore. It started with continuous 'q' and the above solution did not work. Voilà, that's cleared the energy stored in the capacitors and keyboard works again!

Thinking this keyboard would need a hard reset, I tried to remove the rechargeable battery which just does not want to be removed - pincers, metal plates, flat screw drivers - the battery tray just doesn't give in and slide out! I gave up eventually. What I tried is to turn off and on the keyboard repeatedly that does not resolve it. When I return, I encountered a recurring keystroke issue that keeps typing 'q'. I happened to go on an extended trip and left my keyboard powered on throughout the week.
